Achieve Process Excellence by implementing Intelligent Automation  

 
Digital Transformation has become a major focus for businesses in recent years. A typical automation journey has the profile shown in the attached photo:
 
Process Excellence (PE) underpins the delivery of an automation strategy through effective, efficient process design, delivering consistent results. PE leverages methods and technologies aimed at optimizing and improving the performance and resilience of your company’s core processes. Process Excellence considers a holistic picture of your business avoiding potentially inconsistent and conflicting technology fixes, driven by tactical firefighting.
 
As an experienced RPA consultancy, we always keep these principles at the forefront to make sure clients can achieve the best outcomes from digital transformation.
 
1. Integrate with the Company’s core value
Every organisation has its core values and mission. The role of IT is evolving into a key strategic player in the automation era. According to findings from Deloitte, digitally mature organizations are much more likely to approach digital transformation strategically and place digital transformation at the centre of their strategy. They are twice as likely as lower-maturity ones to report net profit margins and annual revenue growth significantly above their industry average.
 
2. Combine Process Mapping and Solution Design to drive automation effort
Before diving into automation, it is essential to capture the relationship between different tasks and the steps required in each process. With a clear process map, the solution design can be focused on process excellence to drive speed and in many cases improved visibility of performance. RPA consultants review all existing processes and convert them into a solution design, which can range from simply automating the current process to a complete redesign incorporating and integrating two to three technologies to realise maximum benefit. Such an approach is the key to process automation excellence to significantly improve efficiency and effectiveness whilst releasing resource and time as assets to redeploy on more added value, cognitive tasks.

3. Monitor the process with tailored dashboard
Key questions to answer on the Process Excellence journey: “What does success look like?”, “How will you know it when you see it?”. These are fundamental questions to ensure focus is on the right initiatives. You can’t manage what you can’t measure – have you got the right KPIs in place to drive the new automation deliverables? The right measures drive the right behaviours. A tailored dashboard covering a balanced scorecard of Service, Cost, Quality and Compliance metrics is recommended, and can be built as an integral element of automation monitoring.
 
4. Continuous process improvement
Process excellence requires constant monitoring and analysis to improve and streamline the processes before and after automation. Change is the only constant
it is the same for process management, what works today might not be the best option forever. Companies continually adopt new policies to keep up with evolving trends and process improvements need to follow suit.
 
5. Capture and apply feedback from users and customers
For many businesses, the main driver for process excellence is to enhance efficiency, save cost, and to improve both customer and internal user experience. Key metrics are critical to inform and steer process excellence priorities.
