Over the years of HP's operations across multiple business segments and countries, they have been several applications built to support growing & changing business needs. These applications evolved as monoliths slowing down the ability of organization to introduce change or pivot to new business models. The digital transformation initiative was kicked off within HP and was geared to improve agility, speed of innovation, reduce costs and improved operation efficiency.
HP Microservices Acceleration Platform (HPMAP) evolved out of the digital transformation initiative and was built in 3 months. The platform reduced microservice development effort by 12 weeks for each team. Automation reduced development effort by 20%, time to market improved by 25% & operational efficiency improved 20%.

HPMAP addressed common challenges faced my all teams including security, code management, code build and production releases to cloud, scaling applications in cloud as needed. The platform enabled transformation not only from technology perspective but also from both cultural and process perspective.

HPMAP platform is a framework of tools and processes to help teams quickly and easily build, test, deploy, scale and operate microservices. Platform help HPs increase time-to-market, enable legacy application modernization & digital transformation, build efficient systems with lower TCO.
Communication on the platform features and the ability to influence changes in the HP eco-system was shared through open house sessions, demo sessions across domain team, meetings with high-impact influencer groups, meetings with management, newsletters etc., HPMAP portal offered resources on knowledge & process and also serves as a collaboration tool.
To ensure voluntary adoption and retention, the value of services offered through the platform are measured through key performance indicators (KPI’s). Some of the core KPI’s include
As a shared platform, the technology platform reduces duplicate effort team across invest in & leverages minimal resources to provide more value in less budget. Teams onboarding HPMAP have seen reduction in time to market and increased efficiency.
