**ENERGY MANAGEMENT THROUGH A SOFTWARE**

 

The objective of our project was the implementation of Energy Management System fully aligned with the law requirements of Mexican Grid code regulation and increase Energy efficiency of Cuernavaca Mexico facilities.

 

We have considered these three elements to have a balanced approach to energy management:

Improve efficiency, reduce operating costs

Energy cost allocation to drive accountability

Avoid service penalties

 

Power grid management

\- Avoid interruptions, avoid equipment damage

\- Optimize electrical system performance

\- Quickly assess the impacts of power quality

 

Asset Management

\- Monitoring and analysis of equipment conditions

\- Manage electrical capacity to ensure distribution flexibility

\- Provide early and predictive alarms

The brand installed offer integration with IoT-enabled best-in-class connected products that include breakers, energy matters, drives, UPSs, relays, sensors, and more. Devices with embedded intelligence drive better decision-making throughout operations.

 

Power monitoring expert software installed main features:

.- Real time access and historical storage

.- Historical reports

.- Trends and analysis in real time

.- Power quality analysis, waveform display

.- Dashboards in real time

.- Alarms

.- Operation via Web browser

.- Storage in database without limitation with SQL Standard license

.- Support for different equipment manufacturers,

.- Integration of meters, relays and protection units, PLC's

.- Algorithms for the integration of other energies: Water, Air, Steam, Compressed Air or others.

 

Operational efficiency

This system reveal opportunities and identify unusual energy use to validate savings and avoid power factor or peak demand penalties. Identify billing errors, track consumption patterns, and we can allocate costs to departments or processes. Reveal unused system capacity and avoid upgrading or overbuilding of electrical installations.

 

Optimization of reliability and continuity

Advanced power forensics help us to understand power event causes, identify event patterns and mobilize proactive maintenance. Track of system capacity to avoid overloads and failures.

 

We have detected opportunity areas to increase our energy efficiency.

 

Power quality problems are detected in real time and historical records are permanently saved.

 

With the implementation of this system we avoid critical penalties, the Mexican legislation allows for fines up to 10% of company’s gross revenue of previous year, or roughly $20M Pesos ($1.1M USD).
