You’re Hired: How Labor Finders Utilized BPM to Digitally Transform its Electronic Employment Application Process

For over 40 years, Labor Finders has worked with thousands of employers around the country— processing upwards of 120,000 employment applications per year, and putting more than 20,000 Americans to work every day.

Due to the competitive nature of the business, delivering value to its customers and achieving competitive differentiation remains critical in attracting and retaining franchisees, employees and workers. At the same time, adherence to legal compliance, business rules and standardized procedures must occur. Labor Finders’ growth resulted in higher volumes of data, and without a scalable system in place they felt the need for technology-enabled process automation keenly.
In 2016, Labor Finders started its year-long planning phase where it evaluated the efficacy and ROI of integrating a BPM software platform with its proprietary software, a project that would then extend their new Electronic Application Hiring Process to over 200 office locations nationwide. This process improvement initiative fit in with the organization’s larger strategic objective of ensuring that every branch office across the country was using most up to date, legally approved employment application while simultaneously maintaining standardization of the employment applications hiring process.
Labor Finders developed its own application on top of BP Logix Process Director, an AI-enabled, low-code development platform that drives custom digital transformation and provides users with the tools they need to make timely and insightful business decisions. Labor Finder’s innovative deployment of Process Director resulted in a seamless integration between the BPM platform and their own proprietary software solution via extensive use of BP Logix web services API. And from this came an additional success— not requiring staff to learn a new system.
Labor Finders’ technology-enabled process automation initiative, implemented from Q1 2017 to Q4 2018, has shown significant results, both financially ($1,380,000 projected cost savings first year) and operationally—contributing to record financial performance and growth, and enabling the company to retain its edge in a competitive industry.
